The Southeast Hydrogen Energy Alliance (SHEA) is proud to introduce the Russ Keller Memorial Scholarship, dedicated to fostering the next generation of renewable energy scientists and engineers. This scholarship honors the legacy of Russ Keller, a pioneering leader in hydrogen and fuel cell technology development in the Southeast. Annually awarded, the scholarship aims to support students with outstanding academic achievements in hydrogen/energy science and engineering, encouraging their growth and development in these critical fields. Eligible students from South Carolina or Georgia with a strong commitment to renewable energy are invited to apply and continue the impactful work Russ Keller championed.

Scholarship Application Details

Purpose:

To honor Russ Keller’s contributions to renewable energy, SHEA offers a scholarship for students demonstrating exceptional academic performance in hydrogen/environmental science or engineering.

Eligibility:

– Junior or Senior college students in South Carolina or Georgia
– Pursuing a degree related to hydrogen/energy fields
– Minimum ‘B’ average in science/engineering and mathematics
– U.S. Citizen

Award:

– Up to $2,500 scholarship
– Financial need is a consideration

Application Requirements:

– Resume, including academic honors and awards
– Transcripts and letter of recommendation
– Description of interest and work in the hydrogen/energy field
– Essay on how the scholarship will support academic and career goals

Selection Criteria:

– Academic achievements and honors (35 points)
– Contributions to hydrogen/energy field (35 points)
– Quality of recommendation letters (15 points)
– Career goals alignment and scholarship impact (10 points)
– Financial need (in case of a tie, 5 points)

Application Process:

  1. Complete the SHEA Keller Scholarship application form.
  2. Submit the application, including all required documents, by the specified deadline.
  3. Applications can be sent via email or mail to the address provided by SHEA.

Deadline:

– Applications must be received by June 30th of the application year.
